Jason Thompson & Jennie Palmer of Charlie & Ivy's celebrating their Farm Shop & Deli Gold Product Awards 2025
The team at Breckenholme are celebrating after two Charlie & Ivy’s products won gold awards in a prestigious national competition recently.

Our delicious Smoked Garlic Mayonnaise and flavourful Blackberry, Thyme & Balsamic, Bread Dipper won awards in the Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards that recognise and reward the best food and drink products that are sold in farm shops, delis and other specialist food retailers.

“Independent and specialist retailers are some of the main outlets for people to buy Charlie & Ivy’s products, so it’s great news that we have been awarded the highest accolade among products that are sold by these retailers and to get such fabulous feedback,” said Charlie & Ivy’s marketing manager, Jennie Palmer.

The judging team included leading farm shop and deli retailers, top wholesaler buyers and industry experts. They concluded that the Smoked Garlic Mayonnaise had “Plenty of taste, lovely colour and consistency. Really nice packaging. Good provenance. All round good egg! Liked it a lot” and “The product has a lovely silky smooth texture and I really like that you give some serving suggestions and the origin of the product on the label.” They said that the Blackberry, Thyme & Balsamic, Bread Dipper had “Beautiful bottle and great branding” and was “Great visually and a nice gift”.

The judges assess everything about the product including the full value chain, branding and taste, ensuring products are not just great tasting but are positioned to sell well in the specialist retail sector. We were very pleased with their feedback.

Commenting on the awards, Giorgio Rigali, Head of Communications, Exhibitions at William Reed said: “The Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards provide a platform that offers manufacturers the opportunity to gain valuable feedback from retailers and wholesalers across the farm shop & deli market. The volume of awards given out by our judges this year highlights the volume of new products looking to grow within the sector, but also the high quality – many of which will be on display at the Farm Shop & Deli Show this April in Birmingham.”

If you’re visiting the show, that takes place at NEC Birmingham from 7th to 9th April, you’ll find us on Stand J289 – please come and say hello!
